Why right-wing terrorists may be flying under the radar

ASIO Offices

There’s a reason the head of ASIO has placed the Australian public on notice to anticipate a terrorist attack in the next 12 months, according to former senior investigator with the NSW Terrorism Investigations Squad, Peter Moroney.

“The comments from Mike Burgess should not be ignored,” Mr Moroney said.

“That doesn’t mean we go into a panic – not by a long shot.”

“During the COVID pandemic, terrorism as a whole has dropped off our radars, so his comments are to ensure terrorism returns to our consciousness and ongoing risk management plans.”
