New regulations for fuel price boards

Fuel price board

Victorian motorists will find comparing fuel prices easier, with new legislation proposed by the Andrews Government banning the display of ‘discounted’ prices on service station price boards.

Currently the ‘discounts’ offered at supermarket-operated outlets are conditional on motorists also having specific shopper dockets. Often, the first time motorists are alerted to the actual price is when they are paying for their purchase.

Geoff Gwilym, VACC Executive Director joined the program to explain what the legislation means for motorists.
