Herbicide harming marsupial health and development

A herbicide that is used widely in Australia to prevent weeds and which has been banned in the European Union since 2003, may be impacting the reproduction in marsupials, according to new research.

PhD student Laura Cook spoke to the program about the study which exposed adult female tammar wallabies to water that had been contaminated by atrazine, then examined the reproductive development of their young.
