Due to this global pandemic, newborn babies are staying at home far more and missing out on usual outings according to midwife and child health nurse Belinda Joyce.
“Many haven’t met their extended family due to travel restrictions, isolation and lockdowns,” she said.
“New parents aren’t able to get the usual help and support from health professionals or friends and family.”
“Parents have reported to me that their babies are 4 – 6 months old and haven’t had a common cold as they’re never out in public to catch one.”
