Sarah Henderson, Member for Corangamite has accused political opponent Libby Coker of running a “xenophobic and highly irresponsible campaign” on the China free trade agreement, and being a “union puppet” in an interview on Mitchell’s Front Page.
“The unions are running a campaign saying Australian jobs will be exported- that’s absolute rubbish,” she said.
“What we’ve seen from Libby Coker and the CFMEU working hand in glove is a terrible campaign.
“A campaign against small businesses, against farmers, against our exporters- the China FTA agreement alone will create something like 178,000 jobs over the next 20 years.
“We are seeing a xenophobic and highly irresponsible campaign against one of the most important generators of new jobs that we’ve seen in many years…this is a real test for Bill Shorten’s leadership…where the likes of people like Libby Coker are just really operating as a union puppet.”
She also spoke about the NBN rollout, same-sex marriage, a renewable energy target and local economic conditions.
