Social media photo sharing sites like Instagram and Pinterest are littered with dangerous baby sleep photos and could be inspiring other parents to create unsafe sleep environments for their children. In addition, the cots and bassinets set up in many baby furniture shops are portraying unsafe sleep environments with soft bedding such as plush toys, pillows, quilts, bumpers and canopies, all of which are not recommended and have been implicated in sudden unexpected death of infants (SUDI).
